Blogiversary Give-Away

Let me re-state the give-away. If you would prefer Decaffiented is not out of the question. I will give the winner this option as well as a choice of flavor.

I completely missed my blogiversary on Feb 9. I started my blog two years ago. I never imagined before I started this blog that I would love doing this. Never thought of meeting people through blogging. I absolutely love keeping up with all of you. I have come to be friends with so many people. I often think that I am going to set out to meet some of these fine people in person. And I am coming to meet some of you one day. Darla look out. Blogworld is full of wonderful friendly people who love to share their love of home and gardening. Blogging has also given me a place to share my love of gardening.

Are you a coffee drinker? I like on occasion to have something gourmet instead of my usual good Folgers coffee. So I stopped by one of my favorite places to buy good coffees and pecan goodies.

This is one pound of Butter Pecan Coffee in whole bean. I love it and I think you will too. It has a smooth buttery/nut flavor. I prepare mine just like I would my Folgers. I love Folgers by the way. I will be sending the coffee along with fresh pralines and a couple other items. I actually have to make another trip to Dees because I ate your praline and need to buy more. They are soooooo goooood.

In order to win (I hope you are a follower but I don't check) just leave me a comment. I will draw a name on Friday around 9:00 my time and then post the winner.

Isn't she a beauty.

Rain is in our forecast and will be glad to get it.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Today I'm thankful for the rain thats coming to water my new plants and seeds.

I Won!

I won a give-a-way! I had been anticipating the arrival of the package from afar. I was thrilled to open my mail box and saw this package that said Royal Mail. Well I felt special. Royal Mail. Diane made this beautiful jewelry. That makes it even more special that she made this. I love your creation. I will wear it proudly. Diane has an awesome blog - one I really enjoy. During the winter months they live in the UK and during the summer in France. How neat is that. Go and check her blog out and tell her I said Hi.

Sorry about the blur, but you get the picture.

Hope you all have a great weekend and some nice weather for shopping.

200th Post Giveaway

I love blogging. I just passed a milestone in blogging. This is my 202nd post. I still find it hard to believe that you all actually read my post - something that I write. I am humbled. I read and appreciate each and every comment.

Why I blog.
When I moved into my rental house 3 years ago there was not a single flower on the property - nearly 4 acres. I have always enjoyed growing flowers but never really got to where I wanted.
Since starting my blog I have created 4 garden areas. I have been blessed by my fellow bloggers with seeds this spring. My gardens have flourished. I enjoy gardening like I never have before. It is theraputic. When you are in the gardens it seems there is nothing but pretties and the expectation of more beauties opening up to kiss the sun.
I started this blog as a means to share what I'm doing. It helps me to be accountable. I blog because I like participating in what others are doing. I blog because it's fun. I blog because it also takes your mind off of yourself and into what others are doing, sharing and their lives. Because we are friends we sometime share what's going on in our lives and reach out. There are prayer warriors all over blogland. And when we share we can be sure that someone is praying for us.

I want to gift this to someone. It is Delightful Daisy Wax Burner. All you have to do is leave a comment. You must be a blogger - no anonymous will be considered. The winner will be announced on Monday.

Hope you all have a blessed day.

Dreaming of Warmer Days

Winter is the time of promise because there is so little to do - or because you can now and then permit yourself the luxury of thinking so. Stanley Crawford

This is how I feel everyday lately - l feel like I have little to do because I cannot get outside. There is plenty to do inside so I'll have to be content with what I have going on inside. The ole weather man is telling us there is a 'substantial' chance of snow on Fri. He is saying 'conditions are stacking up for more snow than we've had in 25 years' - well that part can be exciting.

Our hours at work have been cut - barely getting 29 hours. Don't know when things will change. The trickle down effect is that my bills aren't getting paid properly. Lots to worry about. This also creates more spare time but this is not useful now - I can see where it could be in spring. More time to garden. This also means less money to spend on the gardens. Some things will have to make me a little more creative.

This is what I do everyday when I come home. I drag out the seed trays, seed starting mix and line up the seeds I want to start. I stare at it for a while before putting it away for warmer days ahead. I expect maybe 1 or 2 more weeks I'll start these tiny little seeds. Ya know isn't it beautiful to stop and think how these tiny little seeds can grow so big and absolutely stunning flowers.

These are the seeds I plan to start first. Snapdragons, lupines, foxglove, Lupines Russell Strain mix, Shasta Alaska Daisy and Johnny Jump Ups Viola.

Even my gloves are waving me on. "I need some fresh dirt on me" You know the commercial where the dirty mop is trying to get you back from the 'Swiffer'. This is my version.

I have to be content with some plants indoors. The house plant here is needing to be separated. Have to save this project till I can buy me some potting mix.

My broccoli is really looking good. The seedlings are getting bigger and stronger. I've been feeding them every 2-3 weeks with a light mixture of all purpose plant food.

The lettuce is also doing well. Can't wait to make a salad. This is my first experience with lettuce and broccoli.

In the meantime the shelving awaits a mess of seeds.

That's all my ranting for Wednesday. Ya'll stay warm and cozy and have a nice day.

Don't forget to sign up for the give-a-way on the previous post. I will be drawing in the morning and sending out congrats. OK

A Blogiversary! I'm Having A Give-A-Way

I never knew I could enjoy my computer as much as I do now having made so many friends on here. I still can't believe anyone finds anything really interesting on here to read but it makes me happy that ya'll do.

This is going to short and easy here.

Just leave a comment any time from now thru Wed night ON THIS POST and on Thursday Feb`11 there will be a drawing for 2 winners.

What are you going to receive?

Well let's see here - something I know that every gardener will want more of is seeds. Hometown is congratulating me by offering seeds to my winners. There will be 2 winners for seed packets. I am also giving away a bird feeder. Sorry no photos but it will be deco.

Good Luck.

PS Many thanks to all of my blogger friends sending a prayer my way. I am feeling much better. Been resting this weekend.

I am so grateful to have made so many friends in blog world. I never thought of myself as a blogger till I came across some garden blogs by accident and I am hooked now. A place where we can share gardening tips, show off our stuff and share our joys and our disappoints and trials. What a great place to be.

100th Post Give-Away

I can't believe that I have made my 100th post. So I am having a give-away. The give-away will be Zinnia seeds and a cute flower pitcher and something for your little table that I found at Sage Consignment (a resale shop). Leave a comment and I will draw on Thur Sept 24.

I just received a call and my first cousin just passed away a half hour ago. Now I am the oldest of 36 grandkids of my maternal grandmother. This family has known so much sadness and death. Diane (who passed away) lost her daughter less than a year ago from suicide. Diane lost her brother many years ago. Diane's lost her father a year and half ago. Memories of me and Diane growing up flood my mind. I remember we would stay the night together and stay up late putting on makeup and teasing our hair and talking about boys. Keep this family in your prayers.
