Feeling Like Spring

I have enjoyed this warm weather we have been experiencing. It feels so much like spring. I have to keep reminding myself that this is February. Temps this week have been seasonable in the mid-low sixties and cool nights in the forties.

This weekend I planted some bulbs and roots and put down some seeds. It is too early to be putting seeds out but I just couldn't resist.

Still have lots to do in this area but I couldn't resist getting something in the ground here. I planted hollyhocks and echinacea purpea and some seeds.

The yellow Knockout roses were hard to resist at Lowe's...

And the red Knockout roses were so full of buds too.

A new Bruce Plum tree was sitting pretty at Lowe's and begging to come home. Have to get another for pollination.

The peach trees have blooms though they don't seem as big and full as 2 years ago.

The azaleas are getting ready to be so pretty. This particular one has been blooming for the past 3 months.

Put down another starter garden. I put down Clematis Jackmanii and Bleeding Heart and some seeds. I intended to go all the way around but I wimped out on Saturday so I'll get back to that later. I noticed after taking this that the neighbor cat has been in here.

The daffodils are so bright in an otherwise dreary looking garden.

My mother will be meeting with a surgeon next week to discuss removing the cancer in her lung. It is looking positive for a good recovery. We are being positive and believing she will be fine. Thank you for your prayers.

Envy!, Becca. Gently snowing all day today ...

Your florals are gorgeous. I so love the first hint of spring. I need to find a yellow knockout rose ... was told they have a scent to them. Have you seen them? or noticed a scent?

Your flowers all look so lovely, Becca. Even so early in the season, still you have a lot of pretty blooms to see.

You have quite a bit blooming now. Daffodils are nowhere near blooming here. You'll love your Jackmanii Clematis, it's one of my favorites.
Hope you Mom's surgery goes well!

How I envy you, we have been snowed in all week and it looks like it is going to continue until the middle of next week at least. :( Diane

I love all of your blooms Becca. Your beds look good and will soon be filled in with lots of goodies.

We've been having LOTS or rain for the past week, but I'm not complaining.

May your mother's surgery go smoothly and her recovery be full and swift.

Oh, so many blooms! I like your bed around the tree and the idea of a jackmanii growing up it. I may have to steal that idea! I hope all goes well with your mother.

It is not too early for seeds....well zinnia and cosmos yes. I do not trust this faux spring. Good thoughts coming your mom's way.

Girl you have been a busy gardener. I love the new beds and new plants. Those roses are going to just give you blooms all the time. Those cats love a new garden. LOL! Your Hollyhock and Echinacea seeds should be fine.I got mine started yesterday indoors. I sowed some of the Pansy seeds you sent and want to thank you again for them. They will look lovely in my window boxes this spring. I cannot believe all of the blooms you have already. So pretty.

Your Blooms are all so beautiful and refreshing!!! We have crazy weather here too. Spring for a week and then winter for a few days and spring again. I fear for the fruit trees this year. Today it is winter out but I have daffodils with buds. It's hard to understand Mother Nature some years :0)
Sending prayers for your Mother for a speedy and full recovery!!!!

Prayers for your Mom, Becca...

Your yard is really looking GREAT... We may get a little snow this weekend... BUT--the temp on Sat. night is supposed to go down to about 13--and we may lose some of our new spring growth. Scary... Say a prayer please. Sigh!

Hugs,
Betsy

I am sure this area will be teeming with colors in a few weeks. Yes cats always want to throw in their poo in areas like that, because it is easy for them to cover it. I am sorry for your mother, but she will be alright and well. Just like for Tootsie, i pray for her too.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is wonderful blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back.

Thanks for visiting my Mandy!

I think the weather is all topsy turvey this year! I hope you are keeping well, still reading your posts in my reader but apologies for not calling by to comment very often, time just seems to get swallowed up by real life!

I have decided spring is coming early, since the winter was so mild. I did a little leaf moving today, but had to quit before I wanted to, because my benign positional vertigo is back, and I get dizzy when I bend over.

I will pray for your mom tonight, and when she comes to mind. I hate cancer!

You have a lot more plants blooming that we do. So far all that has bloomed is the daffodils and then only 1 bloom. My elephant ears and ferns are showing growth though and other things as well.

Your beds look so neat. Our are covered in those green weeds that grow in the winter.
