Blogiversary Give-Away

Let me re-state the give-away. If you would prefer Decaffiented is not out of the question. I will give the winner this option as well as a choice of flavor.

I completely missed my blogiversary on Feb 9. I started my blog two years ago. I never imagined before I started this blog that I would love doing this. Never thought of meeting people through blogging. I absolutely love keeping up with all of you. I have come to be friends with so many people. I often think that I am going to set out to meet some of these fine people in person. And I am coming to meet some of you one day. Darla look out. Blogworld is full of wonderful friendly people who love to share their love of home and gardening. Blogging has also given me a place to share my love of gardening.

Are you a coffee drinker? I like on occasion to have something gourmet instead of my usual good Folgers coffee. So I stopped by one of my favorite places to buy good coffees and pecan goodies.

This is one pound of Butter Pecan Coffee in whole bean. I love it and I think you will too. It has a smooth buttery/nut flavor. I prepare mine just like I would my Folgers. I love Folgers by the way. I will be sending the coffee along with fresh pralines and a couple other items. I actually have to make another trip to Dees because I ate your praline and need to buy more. They are soooooo goooood.

In order to win (I hope you are a follower but I don't check) just leave me a comment. I will draw a name on Friday around 9:00 my time and then post the winner.

Isn't she a beauty.

Rain is in our forecast and will be glad to get it.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Today I'm thankful for the rain thats coming to water my new plants and seeds.

A Thief Is Out To Get Your Blog

I hate a thief. Darla brought it to the attention that someone was stealing blogs. I checked it out and there are posts going back more than a year. Ya'll go check this out. How can a blog post 2,433 posts in one year. By stealing...this is from one of Darla's post http://planning-garden.blogspot.com/2011/02/what-wonderful-weekend.html?utm_source=BP_recent

Ya'll go check it out. There are many post that I recognize but forgot who they belong to.

First Daffodil Bloom

Pascagoula, MS on Friday. Beautiful day.

I spent a little time outdoors this weekend. It was so pretty and warm. I am wishing all of you bloggers up north some warmer temps.

Got some new dahlias in the ground this weekend.

New bloom on the blue hyacinth. Looks like I'll get another bloom from this too. I'm loving that my one hyancinth last year made 4 new babies.

This weekend I purchase a couple more hyancinth. This is a pink and the container already had three stalks coming up.

And a couple more blue.

Yea! I was thrilled when I walked out and found this blooming. I'm looking forward to a lot more of these.

Hope you all have a great day.

Today I'm thankful that I had a pretty daffodil to see this morning.

A Few Blooms

Darnit can't get that cursor at the top today. Oh well - it's Thursday the day before Friday - the day we look forward to. I'm looking forward to some pretty weather today with highs in the mid 70's. I think that spring will be short this year. That groundhog might have gotten it right this time.

Just wanted to share a couple of things today. I'm joining up with Tootsie Time this week for Fertilizer Friday and Fishtail Cottage for Cottage Flora Thursdays. You can check them out here http://fishtailcottage.blogspot.com/

The first azalea this year. This bush is in the worst place and gets very little sun and is kinda scrawny but it produces twice a year and never fails to yield some beautiful blooms. I really need to get the fertilizer out and take care of some business. On my list.

This snapdragon forgot to look up the name - sorry - stayed green all winter long. Planted it last year from a seedling. I thought it had died but whooopeeee. I bet it produces a beautiful bloom too. Oh I remember I think this is Giant Tetra.

More snapdragons. These are loading up on buds.

A bloom about to oen on the  dianthus.

You have commented that this must smell so good. If it were indoors I would be able to smell it but ladies I can't get my nose that close to smell it.

Bridal Wreath leafing out.

Well I'm planning to get some stuff done this weekend. I'm gonna try to fill in some of these vacant spots.

This one has clover and other weeds on the top of the ground. Also loaded with daffodils. I'm gonna try to get this cleaned up a little.

This is what I'm longing for. These are all from last year. I'm so bad about not having my dates right on my camera.

Peaches - I hope last years drought will not effect the peaches. The drought is the reason I didn't have any pecans.
Well I hope you all have a great day. And that you are having some nice weather. Got lots to do today so I need to get busy. I'll be around to visit later.

Where Did My Motivation Go?

Where has my motivation gone? Did someone steal it? Did I lose it somewhere? It must be the latter... I need it back.

Last year I had seedlings poking their heads up from the soil. For the past few weeks I just look in the direction of the garden center and pass it by. My hands need to get dirty and I have not allowed them. I walk about the yard and feel guilty that I have deserted it this year.

Does anyone else have a problem with motivation? What helps you?

Happy Valentines Day

Hope you're having a great day wherever you are.

Buddy's like 'please stop taking my picture'. He's gotten where he'll look the other way when I get the camera out.

Happy Valentines Day.

I'm a Sewing and Have Some Blooms

Good Morning. I heard on the weather report today that a lot of people are not having a good day today or for the next couple of days, weatherwise that is. Terrible - record setting snow for you guys up north. I hate it. Here we are socked in with fog this morning and expecting severe weather this afternoon as a cold front pushes in. Today the highs in the upper 60's and tomorrow the upper 40's.

Saturday on the other hand was a beautiful day with temps of around 70 and these pretty blue skies. So you know what I did...

I got out into the gardens and did a little spruce up. The leaves were several inches thick but I left some in to protect seedlings coming up - that is if there is anything other than the weeds. I hesitate to pull some of them up because they could be a flowering plant. I check the grass to see if I see lots of the same thing growing there. Then out they go.

I found my Blue Hyancinth blooming. It sure isn't as pretty as it was last year blooming in my house. But look at it there are 4 babies from this one bulb.

Dianthus is beginning to think it's spring.

Last year I planted these shasta daisy's from a seedling I started indoors. It never bloomed but it has stayed green most of the winter. I'm hoping for some blooms this year or I'll pull them out.

Snapdragons taking on buds.

Dusty Miller is so hardy. Last year they were so big in this garden I think that I'll be moving a couple of them.

Budding on the hydrangea.

Blueberries taking on buds.

Peach tree is taking on buds.

This is what it looks like this morning. Got my umbrella for today.

I got rid of this...

....for this. I fried chicken, cooked potatos for mashed potatos and french cut green beans and Pillsbury French Bread Roll. Hey if you haven't tried this bread - you need to. It is so good and is nice to have something different. I was able to cook on three burners - four if I needed it. I'm so happy with it.

I was excited to finally sew and I completed one kitchen curtain panel. I think I did pretty well. Oh by the way I shared 2 patterns curtain patterns with you and guess what - there is no pattern for making curtains. I winged on these and I think they turned out nice. I was short on fabric so I improvised with the 4" piece on the top to give it more in length. The new machine sews good I've just got to get used to the way it sews with these fancy presser foot and how it pulls the fabric so fast. Anyway I love it. And right now I am needing this distraction from some other personal family stuff going on right now. I could use a few more prayers as some of this is so difficult to handle. My heart is broken.

I hope you have a great day today.

Today I'm thankful that I have a lot to do at work.
