My Bargains

My usual place to go during my lunch breaks is the local Walmart store. And being a gardener I just had to make a quick jaunt to the garden center to see what was new. I'm so glad I did. Look what I bought. All of these bulbs were a $1 each. Reg price was $5 and the Bleeding Heart was regular $10. So you see why I was so excited. All of the bins were picked over real bad with many empty containers so I quickly grabbed all I could handle.

This plant I have never heard of but it looks very interesting. Liatris. Anyone ever seen it?

I just had a fit over this beautiful daylily. Night Beason.
And this one - Strawberry Fields Forever Daylily. I love the color of this one. It looks peach on the package.
This is the assortment. Bleeding Heart. Rudbekia, Phlox, Daylilies, Cannas.

Here are some plants I bought. I thought $2.25 was not a bad price for this size container. The rust color marigold is different. The small dahlia is pretty with its peach and orange blooms.

I couldn't let you go without sharing another picture of the gorgeous azalea. Still I haven't been able to find out what kind this is - but these beautiful blooms look like a rose. This bush has buds and flowers all over it.

Had to get another shot of the flower garden filling out some now. They are all full of buds after giving them some Bloom Burst this past weekend.

My little Buddy was just too tired for anymore work. He said he was busy all day guarding the place.
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. Many will be having some nice weather - but I heard that some may be experiencing snow and rain. Rain is expected here over the weekend so I'll be busy trying to dodge showers. Hope I can get this stuff planted this weekend. Oh and also put up some rig for the deer to stay out of garden areas.

Hello Becca,
Thanks so much for stopping by and adding me as a follower. I so appreciate all the followers and try very hard to stop by regularly to see what is going on in your worlds. I think you really hit the jackpot on the bulbs and plants. They are so pretty. I also love to garden and have been adding new plants to our already existing garden.

Have a great weekend and try not to get wet working in between the raindrops.

Hi Becca,
What a great assortment of bargains!!! I used to have a few Liatris. Also sometimes called Blazing Star. It's a great plant and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Mine was about 5 years old when it finally decided to bite the dust.
Also love your Azalea!!! Looking forward to seeing your deer stopper, too:))

My little Buddy likes to dig(his pretty coat gets black). I like to dig. But we don't dig the same. His is a nuisance and mine is creative. Could Buddy be creative too? I hadn't thought of that.

For bargain-bin flowers they all match beautifully! Lilies that you can split over time for $1. You really scored.

Geez, what great bargains! Our plants are just coming into the stores in these parts, so it'll be a while before I get the chance to find any bargains like those.

I'm resting up tonight for a big day of back yard cleanup and raised veggie bed installation. Have a great weekend.

SUPER GREAT DEAL on the bulbs and root finds at Walmart. I am going over to ours tomorrow to see if they marked ours down. I love the Liatris. The bloom early July for me so we call them firecrackers because they are like little poker thingies! FUN!!!!! You are going to love the lily buys too.... I have them as well. You will be able to divide them up in a few years.

Happy Spring!

You did find some great bargains, my daughter who lives in Texas was at WalMart the other day and calls me with similar bargains she was tickled pink. Blessings,

Becca, thanks for reading my post and leaving a comment! I have Liatris and I think it's a very showy plant, especially if to plant several of them in a group. But even a single plant will create a lovely bunch of beautiful purple flowers. Will wait for its picture in bloom in your garden! Are you on Blotanical? I couldn't find you there.
