Why I Blog

Emily at Emily's Garden wrote a post today that I thought was interesting. Why do I blog? Why do you blog?

I blog because I enjoy sharing what is going on in my yard and gardens. I have always gardened some but never enjoyed it as I do today. I call it therapy today. I like to write though I feel at a loss for words often. Blogging is fun as I get to visit other parts of the world and see what is popular or growing there.

Blogging also makes me accountable as I make lists and come up with new ideas. I need to be accountable as I tend to be on the lazy side.

Anyway that is why I blog.

Like you, I enjoy visiting other parts of our country and those places far away to see all the different flowers, trees, herbs and veggies. It's like day tours without leaving my chair!

Exactly the way I feel too. Blogging does make you observe little things that one might otherwise overlook. And the rewards in the form of friendships, can be so rich!
Thank you for stopping by my blog, Becca. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I too like visiting other people's gardens, thoughts, inspirations and making friends. It is fun to blog and you do get great ideas and information from others. Happy Gardening!

I think Emily may have started something here.

I started because I wanted to keep a journal of my garden now I can garden again after Lyme Arthritis for 6 years. I then decided to use it to give links into lyme Disease and raise awareness amongst the gardeners.

I joined Blotanical to meet other garden blogers but I need to restrict myself as I can run out of time watching other blogs instead of gardening.

I have learnt more about gardening than I do in any of our BBC Gardeners World programs.

Oh Susie, If I didn't blog, I wouldn't know you and your gorgeous garden. I used to blog on Lightblog--and had no-one commenting much. My family and friends said that they would read my blog--but I never knew that. I love getting comments--and I love going to others' blogs and commenting.

Once I joined Blogger --and have made so many new friends, I enjoyed blogging SO much more. It's nice to know that others appreciate what you do, isn't it?????

I started out blogging to leave a "journal" for my family in the future. Now----I blog more for ME and my new blog friends. It's just WONDERFUL.

That being said, I'm extremely busy now--getting ready to leave on vacation on Sat. morning. If I don't comment as much, please forgive me.

Hugs,
Betsy

My reason for blogging has changed since it started almost a year ago. At first it was to let my family(who lives away)see what is going on in my life.

Now I blog mostly to meet new people and like other comments you received, I enjoy seeing other parts of the world.

This is a neat post. I love blogging and I am so thankful my sister in law shoed me a blog. From the first day I was excited about it. I always look forward to getting things off my chest and hearing from my pals around the world. I can't work in the garden so I love seeing yours.

Hi Becca- well said! I love to blog too and really enjoy all the interaction with others who share my passion. For all this time I thought you were on Blotanical, a site where you list your garden blog and then have access to so many other great garden blogs. I have to admit I am addicted. I used to struggle to find great blogs i loved to read and now I have way too many to read but like them so well, I try anyway.
Hope your garden is coming along nicely, it looks good from here!

Right, another go! Here's a link to my original post on this. I find it fascinating reading different people's reasons for blogging, and discovering how many of them are quite similar mine, which has seemed a bit odd before.

Hi Becca, thanks for your visit and kind words. yes, little Dudley is all better now and the flu bug is gone from our house. : )

I loved the question you asked about why we blog...wow, blogging started out for me as a way to promote my website and then turned very quickly into so much more. My blog inspires me to create more things, procrastinate less and I think has been a life line for me during down times. It just keeps me creative and I have to say, lets me have an outlet for my passion of photographing my garden. Like you, I love sharing garden info with others. You certainly have a lovely and creative blog here!!

I really appreciate all the comments on my blog. Not just this post but always. It is nice to know that we are all here for the same reason. Fun, fellowship, educational, personal gratification, to encourage and the list goes on... I get so much pleasure from this addiction. Happy Gardening to everyone. Becca

Hi Becca, I guess I blog as kind of a journal - now I can keep track of my flowers and when they bloom, what they are if I lose a ticket and I'll be able to see how they've grown. The people are great and I learn so much from everyone. Something different every day! But mostly I absolutely love looking at other peoples gardens. That was kind of my pasttime in the winter and cheaper than magazines!
Thank you so much for stopping by and giving your support! I've found friends I didn't know I had!!!
