A Visit to Mothers

After a busy week last week I just needed to see my Mom. You know a talk with Mama always makes everything better. Anyway this is my sweet Mom and Pop. Gotta love em.

This is one of 5 gardens Pop has planted. All vegatables. Mom and Pop put up a lot for the winter months. My garden is to eat when it's ready - not for the freezer. Maybe next year - but it takes a lot of work to up vegetables.
Sorry - but I do not know the names of these roses. This red one looks and feels like velvet.

I love yellow and this yellow rose is just gorgeous.

Mom called this plant a Mothers Day plant. I thought of the Christmas cactus but Pop showed me the Christmas cactus and it is a little different.

Mom has some beautiful Amyrillis. This white one looks so fancy with the red trim.

And the red amyrillis is not to be outdone.

They have very pretty gardens. Your Pop must be a hard worker, that's a really large vegetable bed!

The cactus is an Easter cactus. There is also a Thanksgiving and a Christmas cactus. The flowers are beautiful. Very sweet parents.

That white Amaryllis is to die for - how absolutely delicate it looks. That vegie garden is huge and he has 4 more? I hate when the parents can do circles around me! LOL Actually, I think it's great that they can - I just hate that they do! ;-)

I love the pale amaryllis, it looks so subtle.

What an enormous vegetable garden! It must take a lot of upkeep!

Your Pop is like the southern country Pops I once knew. They're getting harder to find. Beautiful white amaryllis!

Those blooms are so pretty. I can't believe how big their garden is. I can only imagine how much work that takes.

Now that is a lot of hard work for your Pop but your poor mother putting all tht food up. I tried to help The Bennie when he had the big village gardens. He gave so much away to the village people and he canned a lot. I did the clean up. Now that we have moved from the village no more veg garden.

Thank you all for your comments. My Mom and Pop are very special people and I know that I am fortunate to still have them. I count my blessings everyday. Yes - Pop works circles around me any day - even his bad day. Mom has always done nicely with her gardens. She has the green thumb.

Your Mum and Dad do so well to keep up all that gardening. It is nice for you to share your love of gardening with them.
