A Little Bit of Color

I found a little bit of color in my yard after the rain. I am so glad to see something in bloom. More flowers are needed but now is not the time to do any planting. I need to get busy planning the fall and winter gardens. I am learning more about planning - something we learn through experience and what works for us.

The vincas were so full a couple of months ago and now they are straggly but with some color again. Yea!
I love begonias. Why? Because I can grow them so easily. They are beautiful performers and bloom and bloom. They did get stunted due to the draught we had but that is over now. They bounce beautifully. When I cut my plants back all of the cuttings go into a pot to make the next mound to plant. Just stick the cutting into the soil and watch them grow.

The four o'clocks are great performers. They have sprung back since we had rain.
This lantana that is growing wild is prettier than any that I have babied and tried to encourage blooming.

These zinnias are also great performers.

This is what topped off my Saturday night. A pina colada with whipped topping and of course the cherry. Mmmmmmm - so good. Sinful for something to taste that good.

Hope you all have a great Monday.

You still have some beautiful things blooming. My garden is starting to look barren now and I need more varieties of flowers to hold over in late summer. What would we do without annuals? We gardeners need our flowers ;-) If you can grow begonias as pretty as those you are lucky. I kill them every time. Do you suppose I keep them too wet?

You can't beat a plant like begonias where you can just stick the cuttings in dirt and they'll root!

That is a lot of color! I've never tried that with begonias before, I have a few and I think I'll try it.

You still have great color around your. Do you plant your begonias in the ground? I plopped about four in the ground this year, going to see how that works out. Lantana does much better with some neglect for sure.

The color on taht Zenia is breathtaking...
It's about that time of year, when things start to look stragly although because it's been wetter this summer, the flowers have lasted longer.
Yours are still looking beautiful.
Love Pina Coladas they just scream Summer ;)

How beautiful! Is the first one an impatient or vinca? I didn't know vincas came in orange. Either way, its a beautiful color:)
