Health Note

There is still no explanation for my black on Wed and why my pressure dropped so low. Can dehydration cause this? The paramedic said she thought I might be a little dehydrated.

I had a calcium score test done on Friday. The findings are that there is some build up of calcification in two arteries but isn't real bad. I have the early stages of heart disease. I take cholesterol meds already and try to stay away from certain foods but admit that I love the rich southern foods cooked with FAT. I will make more changes to my diet and watch the fat and cholesterol rich foods.

Changes are being made in my diet and to STOP smoking. I had set a date before any of this began on Wed and that date is 9/28 - my birthday. My STOP journey began yesterday with the change of places where I smoke. I have made it not so convenient to smoke. Next week I'll reduce it even more and start the patch on the 28th.

The grandson is much better and no fever. They have been quarintined.

Thanks for all of your prayers.

Tomorrow I am posting some flowers - enough of all this health stuff.

Yes mam dehydration can cause you to black out/faint. It happened to my daughter....check into lecithin for cholestrol....I know you get so much advice on health issues. My husband was a walking time bomb with his numbers, I changed his diet and added some vitamin supplements and the doctor could not believe how fast his numbers dropped...No meds..

I hope all of your health issues will resolve successfully. Best wishes on stopping smoking.
You won the copy of The Book that Made America, from my blog give away & I hope that will cheer you up.
I sent you an email about it.

Thanks for that info Darla. I will look into adding lecithin. I hate to take vitamins. I should take them since I don't always eat right. Well the doctors will never know at this point what caused the black out - but I feel it was something like that - because I got to feeling better so quick after the fluids were started.

Ginger you and I were born on a great day of the month. We are easy to get along with and keep a balanced life. My sign is very much like me.

Glad you are feeling better and getting down to the bottom of what caused you to black out. Scary stuff.

Wow, that IS scarey. Home alone and not knowing how long you'd been out. 'Ol Buddy earned a kings meal from you! I'm betting dehydration too. But it sure wouldnt hurt to make the changes you said either!

Dehydration can knock me flat on my butt, I have to constantly be drinking water. It also makes me listless and tired. Good Luck with the no smoking.. I quit in early July, it is not easy, it still is not easy..I don't like it..some days I am not sure that I am meant to be a non smoker..but I can breathe and I don't hack and cough anymore. I did the patch for 10 days and then went cold turkey:)

Almost the most the same thing happened to my husband. He was in the hospital for 2 and half days having tests done. Everything came out normal. As a matter of fact they said he was as healthy as a horse or very healthy for a 57 year old. The conclusion...dehydration. I am such a firm believer in lots of water.

Honey, good luck with quitting smoking. I know all too well about that. We are cheering you on!

Well Becca, I hope it was just dehydration... That's easy to remedy. Having things like that to happen can be very scary---and a warning. Do whatever you need to in order to get healthy.

Prayers and Hugs,
Betsy

I am so sorry about your scare, but I'm glad you are so much better. I have cardiac problems too, along with other ailments. Sounds like me having a handful of meds. I have an enlarged heart and also GERD so when I have chest pains I always wonder. I, too, must change my diet immediately. I have way too much weight I'm carrying around and I know I will be better when I get this weight off. I will continue to pray for your grandson and you.

Totally scary Becca. My son fainted dead a month back and did great injury to himself in the fall. It turned out it was from dehydration! He worked out, went to work without eating and hydrating himself. So I know it's possible!

Water is our friend. This farm chick learned that a long time ago and when I found out it can help prevent wrinkling I can't drink enough!LOL I have passed out working too long in the hot summer sum before.

My prayers are with you Becca that if it wasn't simply dehydration that the cause will be discovered and healed.

Ya got to throw those cancer sticks away, girfriend! 'Just not healthy. Take care and enjoy your day!!!

Glad you are feeling better.
I think you can quit smoking! And be successful at it. I will be praying that you make a permanent thing in your life. My aunt quit 9 years ago and is still going strong!

Prayers going up for you here, Becca. Best of luck to you with quitting smoking. My husband did it by going to a hypnotist. It's not an easy thing to do, but keeping yourself healthy should help be a motivator for you. Hugs to you from Daisy.
