Awesome azaleas.
I knew I had to get my yard cut this weekend. I couldn't coax anyone up to my place to do it for me. I bitched and whined about the grass being knee hi. So I had to hit the riding lawn mower and cut this 3 acres I have. I DID IT all by myself and it felt good to get it done. Now I am not so afraid of the mower. I think I am now ready for the lawn mower races. We have those kinda races here in the south. Can't say I've been to one but I think I am ready now. LOL
Anyway I decided that since I was going to cut down all of these pretty weeds then I was going to show you how pretty weeds can be. All of these are growing wild in my yard.
This one is actually a ground cover that blooms and they are all over my yard.
This one causes me to sneeze and have a runny nose.

good for you girl....I love wild flowers...or flowering weeds..whatever you call them...they are still pretty...
They may be pretty but a pain in the backside.....especially the oxalis.
Are you still vibrating? 3 acres is a lot...I think I would be shaking for a week.
All we seem to be able to grow weed wise is dandelions....and I so hate them. I'd have mowed the 3 acre lawn for you.

A weed is only a plant in the wrong place, they all have their own charm.
Your azalea is indeed awesome! I have a weed, veronica all over my yard. It makes my whole lawn light purple. It's pretty once a year bur impossible to get rid of. Thanks for joining the tour. Looking forward to seeing more of your 'bloomers'! LOL Jean
Weeds or not their still gorgeous !
It's almost a shame to get rid of them, we leave ours :)
I didn't realize you had so much property. Good thing you have the riding mower. The weed flowers can be pretty, although so far I've only seen dandelions blooming. My little one thinks they're beautiful and always picks bouquets of them.
Some of those weeds didn't look to bad.

Hi Becca, Three acres????? Goodness ---that is alot of land for you to keep up with... Good Luck..
Thanks for showing us some of your 'wildflowers'.... They are pretty---but I agree that you HAD to cut the grass before it got any higher... I would have done the same thing.
Love your Azaleas. Ours are not anywhere near ready to bloom here.
Hugs,
Betsy
The wind was blowing with a cool breeze but shortly. Now the sky is bright and clear - it's a wonderful morning here ;-)
Weeds are pretty as well. Thanks for showing. Love your Azalea - the flwoers are attractive!
Have a fantastic day!
I see beauty in weeds too.
Now, about that seasonal sneezing, here's something that really works:
Get some local honey that is unprocessed. Local is really important, because it contains traces of local pollen. Take a spoonful every day. Do this year-round. My husband suffered miserably from allergies this time of year and started doing this and he does not have ANY allergies anymore. No kidding!
Thank heavens for perennials! Love your blooms!
I love your blooms. Are you saying that those white flowers with the yellow centers are weeds???
Happy Blooming Tuesday..
Ann
Becca: They are so pretty, I'm glad I'm not allergic.
Wow - mowing three acres by yourself is quite an accomplishment. But then I have only mowed the backyard with an electric mower ;-)
Your weedy flowers are pretty but I bet your nose is happy that they are gone now.
I have some pretty nice weeds myself! LOL!
Your azaleas are gorgeous, Becca! And you have some pretty "weeds" too. Good for you getting your grass cut. I think we will cut ours for the first time this weekend probably.
you have the pretties weeds around!!
I think I know where you can race that lawn mower for money ..lol

Re:comment on my post...you cannot be afraid of snakes like I am...if so, we should garden together. lol Put on sneakers or boots, get a shovel or the like and push the wheelbarrow over and then grab it (gloves of course) FAST! You will have so much fun changing it up with the seasons!! Post a photo when you get it...c'mon you can do it!!
Thanks for visiting my little blog project and for "following" our progress here in the concrete jungle.
LOVE the posting about the "weeds" - as someone once told me - our favorite perennials are just weeds in favour. Here in Canada we get rid of ragweed - but it's a favorite in English gardens.
The wildflowers can be so pretty and so problematic at the same time...sorry so many of them seem to give you sneeze attacks! I guess if you cut them down they'll grow back since they don't easily give up! My azaleas are just blooming and the buds are bursting, many on the verge of popping open. Happy spring!
Hats off to you Becca, for mowing three acres! YIKES.
Love the photos and it is just fun to see what others are growing and doing.
All joys,

Hi Becca, Me again... .I'm so sorry you are having trouble loading my blog. I haven't had anyone else --except one other person--tell me that it loads slowly. I do have alot of pictures and make them large... SO--I could either go back to smaller pictures or maybe less of them per post... I'm so sorry .... I hate that!!!! Please don't give up on me.
Hugs,
Betsy
