This and That

I'm wearing my new birthday shoes today. I have needed new walking shoes for more than a year now. Yea - I've never had an $85.00 pair of shoes before. These are the toning shoes and are suppose to tone your butt and legs. I can tell from just wearing them this morning that they really do kinda lift you when you walk in the rear end. Anyway I'm planning to get out next week with some cooler temps and walk with Buddy. I love walking the little fellow but it has been entirely too hot this summer for me to do much walking.

I have been seeing quite a few deer coming up in the yard lately. I've also seen several dead ones along the sides of the road which means they are getting more active now that the babies have grown over the summer. Running into a deer can severly damage a car and potentially cause a tragic accident. Just have to be watchful. The deer just dart out in front of you so fast most of the time that you don't even see them coming and then the headlights will cause them to stop.

I have a birthday coming up on Tuesday the 28th. I am planning a post for that day.

So glad it's Friday today. Always ready for the weekend. I am planning on getting out to search for some photo moments. Sort of a stop and smell the roses kinda thing. I am realizing that I need to do this more often. My life is rather boring being a single person who doesn't drink but maybe one to three times a year. I don't get out to do anything with others. I don't really have any friends to speak of. Mostly just acquaintances. I'm just not very outgoing and wish I were different. I have someone I like to spend time with on weekends but we do not have the kind of relationship that would ever bring anything to permanent but as I'm saying this I'm thinking that I could have to eat those words. I am a tolerant person. This person drinks a lot and that alone would deter me from anything permanent. Been there done that with an alcoholic. So anyway I just need to get out more and visit some of those people that I haven't seen in a while.

Well the boss just walked in so I need to get busy. Off at noon today. Ya'll have a great weekend.

Love your header picture Becca. That great big blue sky with those white puffy clouds.

Your shoes look great and I'm sure you and Buddy will have some great walks once the weather cools down.

Hope you have a really nice birthday on the 28th.

Oooooo nice shoes Becca. Let me know how they work, I could use a pair and they are definitely in 'my' color!
Funny how you mentioned not many friends just acquaintances. I've been pretty down this morning thinking the same thing. Hundreds of acquaintances over the years but not any good friends. I can probably count on one hand (maybe one and a half) the times friends have come up here to visit. I finally decided it's always a one way road and I'm not trying anymore. I've always thought friends were important but apparently I was wrong. LOL

I wish we lived closer Becca it would be great to go for walks together. I have never heard of those shoes, maybe they have not reached the UK and France!! I will wish you a Happy Birthday now for the 28th but I am sure I will remember on the day. Wishing you all the very best and I hope that someone will spoil you rotten for the day. Diane

Hi Becca. I have saw those shoes and wondered if they would make me feel like I was falling frontwards or what.LOL! Anyway there is no shoe made that could tone up my big backside.
It does make one feel better to get out and walk. I thought I would croak some of those humid 90 degree days. Die of heat stroke getting healthier. LOL! Not a good idea.
Well you have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Birthday Tuesday!

Just noticed at the top of your blog you are in zone 8b. So am I, of course, most of Alabama is probably in that zone too. I've never really paid any attention.

Do you Twitter? I opened an account last year, and just never used it. I started again while I was on Blog Frog. It's like being an a big room and hearing snatches of conversation and adding your own or responding to someone else. Keeps me entertained.

Cute shoes! I've heard of those kind that help you exercise and have been thinking of trying them. There are several different ones but I haven't decided which ones to get yet.

Hope you have a great weekend, Becca!

I could also do with a little rear toning ;) Buddy is just soooo cute with that - and your garden is looking lovely as usual ! I'm with you on the giving up smoking thing (I, too, have a slightly addictive streak so have to be careful !) - hope that it is going well for you. I gave up in April 2004 when I fell pregnant with my daughter & haven't touched one since. But I miss it, enjoyed it so much & still get cravings to this day. It does get easier though, I promise ! Hope you're having a lovely weekend :)

Good luck with those shoes! I once saw a deer and school bus meet up and it was a sad sight. The deer come out of no where so fast that there is no time to react.

Extending early happy birthday wishes!

Hello Becca,

I have wondered how those shoes work. I think it is a great idea....you get a workout, so does your dog and you get to smell the roses. I think you will have a wonderful time. Maybe you can bring your camera along sometimes to take pictures of the beautiful things you see and share it with us :-)
