A Couple of Blooms

I was thrilled when I saw these two butterflies on the pentas and ran and got the camera and they were still there. Yea! They come and go so quick. Actually the pentas are the happiest of all the flowers. Not many blooms going on this time of year and the ones that are there are so sad and puny looking. We have had a lot of dry spells this year and it hasn't rained in quite a while.

I'm getting ready to place my seed order and maybe a couple of plants too. My goal is to plan for blooms throughout the seasons. I have to admit my planning for this year wasn't what it was the previous year and my gardens are showing it too.

This sweet canna is one that was hiding when I moved them this year. I'm glad that it did. It adds a bright spot in the garden.

Check out the black widow found in the shop at the office. Could have come here in some equipment. No matter how he got here it is frightening. This is my first time to see one. I don't know how the guys got it in the bottle and didn't get bit. I wouldn't have done anything like that - I would have stomped it to death. Check out it's hour glass on the belly. A perfect hour glass. I take that to mean you only have hours to live if bitten.

I have been very busy at work these days and that is a good thing. It means that business is picking up. It also means that I have less time to blog and visit and work is more important. I still haven't replaced my home computer. I'll be by to visit as I can.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

How pretty Becca. The butterflies are loving the Pentas. I am planing for next year too after this disappointing summer. Your Canna blooms are still so pretty. Yikes! Not so much the spider though. Squash that baby. LOL!

Funny we both did butterflies today, not much else going on in my garden.

Blooms are few and far between here too. Love seeing the flutterbys. My daughter told me just today that her husband found a black widow in his work warehouse yesterday, I saw someone else post one a few weeks back! YIKES!

I hope you get some rain soon, and not too much! :-)
We see black widows around our house occasionally, they usually avoid well populated spots though.
That yellow canna is very nice! Our orange one has been blooming nicely in its pot.

Interesting photos of the spider. I'm not one to freak out when I see spiders and usually let them go their merry way..but I think I would have had to to something to get rid of this one if I came across it.

It is nice to see butterflies with our puny flowers in this drought...do not like to see spiders though! Yes work instead of blog:)

I like your happy flowers (and the butterflies) much more than I do the black widow spider. I wouldn't enjoy coming across that guy.

That's a big spider! Hours to live if bitten - never thought about the hourglass meaning something like that! haha Your canna looks very happy. I almost bought some pentas the other day. Now I wish I had! It was just too hot to be planting anything!

Still pretty flowers for us to see. Love them! However, the spider...you can keep! Frightening!
I was off a day, but wanted to check out what I missed. Glad I did. Hugs!

I enjoyed the Pentas and the butterfly..the spider not so much. Fall weather seems to bring them out around here..not black widows..we don't have those only non poisonous ones:)

Glad you caught your spider. I got bit by a brown recluse about six months that turned into a wound on my thigh and I'm still trying to heal it. We assume I got bit while in my garden. Perils of gardening, I guess?

Hi Becca, Thanks so much for visiting me and leaving a sweet comment. I like your butterfly photos - we've had butterflies on our penta as well. I've never seen a black widow and I hope I never do! It was interesting to see one, though. Have a good week!
