New Blooms

Hope you all are having a great day on this Tuesday. Me I'm working - but I have to get a post up so here I am. I went shopping this weekend and this is what a I bought. Purchasing new flowers always makes me feel good and happy. Mums, pansy's, portulaca, pentas, and snapdragons. I was so happy to get some new color in my gardens this weekend.

The penta were so pretty. I love purchasing plants from Lowe's. They always have good healthy plants. I loved the colors I found too. I have four pentas now and they are all different shades of pinks.

The snapdragons were so pretty. They are so bright at night too.

I pretty much put everything in containers except for a few snaps and the pentas. I am planning on re-doing the gardens (again) and I want to be able to move these plants.

I potted up two containers like this one. I love the shade of the pansy's. I rarely have pansy's in my gardens. I haven't had much luck with them in the past but ya know sometime things change. Maybe they'll live for a while.

Don't ya love the color on these two pentas.

There was orange and pinks in the portulaca and I'm loving the pretty full blooms.

OOPS! Donut alert. I simply could not turn down the lady standing outside the grocery store selling the donuts to raise money for a cause. I went to the store hungry and I know that is a no-no.

I cannot resist a good FRESH Krispy Kreme donut. These were fresh. They melt in your hands on the way to your mouth. Ooohhhh - Girls I ate the entire dozen in 24 hours. I binged. I hardly ever do this but I have to admit I enjoyed every bite. Won't happen again for a LonG time. Have you ever binged on something like this?

And back to the blooms.

My first of two orders came in the mail and I was so happy to see them arrive. I can't wait to see them next year. I will have to purchase some grow lights. I cannot stand to set up in my bedroom again. My bedroom has the only good south window in the house that receives any sun. This time I will set up in the utility room with lights and hope for the best. Many I will direct sow in the spring. I know it's hard to see those dark shiny packets.

There is so much dead undergrowth on the osteoporum (not shown but are next to the marigolds here) and the marigolds. They look horrible. The blooms are looking good but the plant looks horrible. I hate to cut it back so drastically. What do you think? This is showing growth right up from the ground. The straggly branches have plenty of blooms on them.

I follow you guys and I know that you move your plants around. I am a little leery of doing that but I moved this Rose of Sharon and it looks horrible. I hope I didn't kill it. I have another that I want to move but I think I'm gonna wait to see how this one does. I initially planted them in a spot that I was anticipating moving them once I established where I wanted them.

One of the pentas I already had. Pentas have been one of the best plants for me this year.

And tomorrow is my birthday. I'll be turning 56.

PS I think I mentioned in a previous post that I had tried to load another photo in my header and blogger said I had reached my quota of photos. Well this is the first post since then and I am able to load photos onto my blog but not in the header. Doesn't make any sense. Any ideas?

Great plants Becca. Watch the pansies in this heat we are still having, they like full sun but cool air. Mine that I recently planted are struggling in full sun. You can pinch those pentas to root and over winter so you don't have to buy more next year, the portulaca you know will die down but comeback everywhere next year. I transplanted a rose of sharon and it looked like that for quite a while, now it's bouncing back, good luck! The donuts look yummy. I binged today, 4 brownie cookies, now I'm suffering, lol. Haven't a clue about your header photo uploading issue. Glad to see you here though!

Happy, happy birthday, wishing you all the very best with many happy years ahead.
Your photos are gorgeous and your flowers so pretty.
As for bingeing, I would not do it with donuts, but give me a box of chocolates or a good cheese and I will flatten the lot :-)
Think it comes down to paying a fee with header photos after you have used your quota!!!
Have a great day tomorrow Diane xx

I am jealous of all those lovely new plants...We only have walmart locally and seems they think this yr we should all plant impatience...since that is the only thing they have in the annuals section...the irony...impatience is the only plant I can't get to grow on any level..

Yummy donuts...Glad you enjoyed them.

Blessings Kelsie

Love the pretty oranges and blues of your new plants. So pretty! The local Lowe's here has almost nothing in it. So depressing. I know it's hot, but I wonder if the local suppliers couldn't get anything to grow in this heat, either. Or maybe it's just too hot for fall flowers, so they're waiting for cool weather. ? Those donuts look GOOD!!! I had a craving for some donuts several weeks back, but I was good and didn't have any. But, oh, my - those look good! I would have eaten them all, too! Happy, Happy Birthday!!! I hope it's a fabulous one! Can you contact blogger? I didn't realize we have a quota!

Happy Birthday!
I loved the choices of flowers. I have tried pentas. I'll see if the nursery I use has them or else make a trip to Lowes to see what they've got. Don't know about the header....I haven't tried to change picture in a while. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

Becca,

We will say happy birthday to each other tomorrow! I love all of the colorful blooms as my garden is beginning to give up the ghost. I still have some roses blooming and a few fall flowers. Have a great day tomorrow.

♫Happy Birthday♫ I am glad you are gardening. I have lost my will to plant a thing but I did spray all my million weeds today before they go to seed. A local nursery that sells to the public only once a year is having a sale this week and I do not want to go-I must be sick. Have a lovely, lovely birthday and big hugs♥

I can understand binging on fresh Krispy Kreme donuts. I have been tempted many times to do the same. They're delicious.
I like the plants you got at Lowe's -- we get most of our annuals there as well.

Hey, Becca! It is nice catching up with you. I love the color of the pansies, too. I need to go to the nursery and plan my fall containers. I hope you have a blessed birthday!

Looks like you got some GREAT flowers at Lowe's, Becca.... They are all so pretty... The only thing we plant in Fall besides some of our spring bulbs is a bunch of Pansies --which will hopefully last all Winter --until about July (when it gets really hot). BUT--don't plant your Pansies until it gets cooler in your area. They do not like HEAT...

Your Rose of Sharon may have just been shocked when you moved it. Hopefully it will come back..

Have no idea why you can't get a header picture.....

Have a great Wed.
Hugs,
Betsy

Wow, beautiful plants. It's always so fun to get new life around the place isn't it? I love going to Lowe's too, they do have healthy plants. Enjoy your flowers, and I wish I could've been there to share those donuts with you! That would have been fun!

Hi Becca. Wow, girl you got some beautiful new plants for your garden. It does make one feel good to splurge on new plants and donuts. LOL! Look at all those new seeds. You are going to be busy this winter. I love the new pansies. I have not got mine yet but I saw a few seeded in my window boxes and are growing. Yah! Have a wonderful week.

Very pretty flowers...I love all the colors and combinations of them. Now, you know how I am about sweets and you are tempting me with these donuts! I would run over for a coffee break, but I'm busy, busy cleaning this morning. Maybe next time! LOL. I do love you!

You've been way busy! Nice flower choices! I have barely had the energy to continue to water the garden. (We haven't had rain in months.)
As for bingeing, me??? (Of course.)

Look at all those great plants. You have some beautiful ones. I don't know about the header issue. Sorry your facebook got hacked. That's odd though. Did you try requesting your password to the email address you used? Good luck!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY BECCA,
It was good to hear from you and your flowers are gorgeous.
My grandma use to keep a cement pot full of pansies on her front porch...The snow would blow all over them and they just kept peaking out from under the snow and then depending on how hot it became, they could last until june. I love pansies.
Your doughnuts look yummy but if I was going to eat and eat something,it would be twizzlers...cherry...or honey graham crackers.
I am sorry about your facebook...I have enough trouble with blogger without joining facebook...I just won't do it...and they never answer your questions...I think it would be easier to talk to the President than to get an answer from blogger.
I broke a tooth off last night and so I will be going to the dentist.
take care my friend
hugs

Happy Birthday to YOU, & may God bless you, sweet friend.

Becca, your plants are beautiful. Are they perrenials? I am only putting in perrenials now.

Isn't it fun to plant newbies & see them coming in. I need to get the Black Eyed Susan vine that Darla had ... that is awesome.

Have a beautiful fun day ... you deserve it.

Have a beautiful week, my friend.
TTFN ~
Hugs,
Marydon
