Have you seen a magnolia that looks like a shrub. Well I have about six magnolia's and they are all trees except this one. It doesn't even look like it wants to be a tree. It is getting ready to bloom - way before the magnolia trees.
The veggies are starting to pop up. This is butter beans planted by seeds on the 5th of April and they are looking good. It sure didn't take long for them to pop out.
I planted more seeds and plants this Easter weekend. I felt I needed to get everything into the ground before the 15th. I managed to get 65-70 hills from seed and plant this weekend alone. 
This is what I have in my garden:Butter beans, snap beans, peas, yellow and white squash, red yellow and green bell pepper, jalapeno, tomato, cucumber, eggplant, watermelon and cantalope. I probably left out something. I have a good variety.
This is all the flowers I have to show today. My new bed has taken a back seat to the veggie garden this week.

This time of year just makes you feel good.

It sure is a great time of year! Oh, you make me hungry talking about all that you have planted. We have very good luck with bell peppers. Do you mostly eat yours raw or do you use them in casseroles etc.?

This time of year certainly does make one feel good. I can't wait for my "weekend" so I can work in our garden.
What kind of watermelon did you plant? I planted orangeglo (just cause it's orange, I guess).
Well there's nothing better than working in the garden--especially this time of year... Yours is coming along very well.
Is that a Magnolia shrub??? I've never heard of them...

I think it just might be a magnolia grandiflora. Over here we treat them as well shrubs - kind of leaning against walls, not quite climbing. They get really huge - up to a 2nd storey - but over a long time (decades). But I could be completely wrong!
Mildred - I cook bell pepper. I am not fond of the taste raw.
Prospero - I am not sure of what kind of watermelon. I'll check the packet when I get home this afternoon.
Betsy - I have never heard of nor have I seen a magnolia shrub. But it very definately has characteristics of a shrub.
We had rain and more rain for Easter. Your garden looks great, you did get a lot in the ground.

It sure does sound like you had a busy day. That's a lot of planting. I've never seen a magnolia like that, is it an evergreen one? I hope you will show it in bloom!
