Too Hot

Hey fellow bloggers. I haven't left ya. I am just taking a breather here. It is so dang hot here that doing any gardening or anything else for that matter outdoors is simply out of the question. Heat exaustion is common here and I am a wimp so I don't have to worry about that. I will feel better soon and maybe I'll get a post up later this week.

You know we gardeners can't be pleased by the weather - one day complaining of too much rain and then no rain and heat. I do believe that it has been about 30 days now and that is just not like the area in which we live.

My mom called me to tell me the chicks are growing so fast - I saw them this weekend - WOW.
They now have a new little place to live and the rest is in the works. My Pop said "I don't want them things... Mom said "Oh yes we do". Pop is crazy about them now. I'll have pics next post.

We are just starting to heat up in my neck of the woods as well. I agree with your ' too dang hot' comment! HOWEVER - the flowers are loving the rain we had a few days ago and now the nice sunny days! Stop by my garden this week to see all the new SUMMER BLOOMERS I will be sharing with my cyber garden friends.

Happy Summer - stay cool dear friend. I so enjoy your blog!

Gardeners and farmers are never satisfied with the weather. I once heard this joke about farmers,

Do you know what they call a basement full of farmers?

A whine cellar! Aint it the truth!? Ha! I'm married to one so I know this stuff.;D

Like Bren, we are just getting some heat. We've had nothing but rain and cool 60's and 70's until this weekend.

Hi Becca. It' s getting hot here too. And it's a funny thing - the weeds love it. They love the rain we're getting also.

Try to stay out of the heat.

I hope it cools down. It's better not to work outside and get heat exhaustion.
Glad to hear the chicks are doing well :)

Maybe you will get eggs soon from the chickens, do you think mom and dad will share? It's hot and dry here in Arkansas I go out and water early and late in the afternoon.

I am in West Mobile and it says 103 outside. Can't remember when we had rain last. At least a month like you stated. We are in need of some rain.

Girl I know what you mean about the heat. It was 103 when I first got in my car this afternoon to go home. We haven't had rain going on 4 weeks now.

It's way hot here in Kentucky too... so hot that the lense of my camera fogs up when I step outside =O Hope you see a few cool days soon ^.^

I feel your pain. We had a heat index yesterday of 107 degrees. The AC at work can't handle the demand so we were all melting by lunchtime. I'm hoping there's a reprieve soon as my garden just can't take it.

I just came in from outside and it's too hot to even take pictures of the garden let alone work in it! Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

I certainly understand, Becca. The weather can really depress us at times, can't it???? AND---we have no control over it--so that makes it harder.

Maybe you can take this time to read a good book and drink some lemonade.

Hugs,
Betsy

Hope you are keeping cool, Becca! I agree, no sense in being out in the heat and humidity.

I am hot 24/7, but I can't resist the yard.

Inside-outside all day long.

Crazy!

Becca -
thank you for stopping by my site. I just found yours and it's lovely! I'll be coming back often.

I feel for my southern sisters....the heat has been awful (I'm from TN and they are having it bad too).

Stay cool and be careful.

It seems really hot here too. I am afraid I am one of those farmer/gardeners that is never satisfied with the weather. Of course that is because it seems like if it rains it floods anymore and if it doesn't rain it is a drought. No happy medium anymore with the weather. See I am doing it now! I need some cheese to go with my whine! ;-)
