The first blooms on the new Purple Hydrangea. It is pink and turned a darker pink. This is in a pot and I keep them watered but even they are suffering. Faucet water is just not good enough.
This is what everyone was calling a marigold. It is different than marigolds I've seen.
This is the vincas now. Pitiful - just pitiful. I have watered every 2-4 days. It just isn't enough anymore.

Notice the variations in color. You can see one strip of green. Dead grass.

It is disheartening to have such beautiful and promising gardens and now this. Oh well - it'll make a good comeback story - won't it. Becca's gardens will bounce back - I'm sure.
Independance Day is upon us. We as a nation have so much to be thankful for. I am glad I live in America. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and say a prayer for our country.

Oh...I hope you get some rain soon!! I wish I could send you some of ours. The wind has done a number on our gardens!!!
Happy fourth to you!!
Jen
I'm sorry to see you poor flowers drying up. I sure hope you get that rain and everything just pops up and gets growing again.
your garden is lovely and I do hope you get some rain too. I know that feeling, that was me we went over a month. Need more so I will continue to try to send you some too.
Sorry about the drought! The weather has been so hot here my pansies all died, watering them twice a day wasn't enough with the full sun they were sitting in. Hope you get some rain soon!
I have a purple flower mexican heather. Over here, it need to be watered daily :-) Becca, take care and drink lots of water ok!
Hi Becca, I'm so sad about your yard and lack of rain. We had a horrible drought for months and months in 2007. George and i watered the yard almost every other day.. (And that wasn't cheap!) Even still-- we still lost some things that year. Even the big shade trees were so thirsty. It was a terrible time---so I know what you are going through. I'm so very sorry.
Hang in there... it will improve...
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh it is so upsetting when you get a drught and your precious friends struggle most things do recover with a bit of watering but it is such a phenominal chore and you have a rather large plot.
We are also suffering a draught although many surrounding areas have had some rain it keeps missing us.
I do hope you and we get some rain soon.
We are supposed to get some more rain over the next week. That is if you can trust those people at NBC15 and Fox10. Hope your garden perks back up!
I am with you 100%!! Mine looks the same! We need some rain soon!!!!!!
The picture of the vinca doesn't look right to me. It looks more like impatiens. However, it could just be my eyes playing tricks on me.
Hi Becca,
Yep, we have the same situation here, although I water every day, and keep things going, especially my veggie garden. But everything does need rain. Your Purple hydrengea/turned pink is beautiful. I love that color.
The forecast has rain coming in for us starting Friday night, and again Saturday and Sunday. Will put a bit of a damper on the holiday doings, but I still want the rain to get here! Hope it comes your way as well! Want to join me in a rain dance, to encourage it?
Have a wonderful 4th of July!
Hugs and showers,
Renie
That is right Becca never say never . The rain will come (I hope) we need it to.
Patsy
Hi Becca. Your lovely garden will come back (you should see my vegetable garden now!) The height of summer can be a little brutal, but it's all part of the design. Have a most happy 4th of July.
Hi !! I am sorry too for the lovely flowers !! But it will definitely rain and will make your flowers smile again..:)..Do check my another blog also i.e.Unseen Rajasthan
Definitely Impatiens rather than vinca. The "marigold" is really a Coreopsis.
Happy 4th of July to you, Becca!
I hope you get some rain soon and that your flowers and garden bounce back.
We have been having the opposite problem. It has ben raining for days and the plants are all laying down. I hope some of our rain comes your way. Happy 4th! Jean
Sorry about your garden. My vegetable garden looks awful, too. But it's not the weather, it's the farmer. LOL This is my first real vegetable garden. They've always been a few tomaotes and such in pots in the past. My canteloupes are doing well, though. I should be able to pick a few this week. ( I hope). Good luck!!
Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your lovely photos of them. xorachel
