Tropical Storm Ida

The tropical system came and went. The radar showed T.S.Ida coming right up Mobile Bay shoving lots of water onto the roads and then the wind shifted and is blowing the water out of the bay causing it to look like marshlands. Seems that most of the weather associated with this system ran to the north of it. Everyone expected much worse conditions since the storm still was packing winds of 70 last night when I went to bed.

Ida won't even be memorable other than to say that the timing was a lot off the mark.

We are expecting some gorgeous weather as the system moves away from us. The forecast calls for sun and temps in the low 70's and lows in the 50's. MMMmmm that sounds good to me. The gardens need some attention this weekend.

Hope you all have a great day.

We are so still getting a steady soaking here in North Florida. Suppose to have some heavy downpours this afternoon. This type of hype about a storm is what causes us not to take the news as seriously as we should. I am grateful it wasn't as bad as predicted though....News over kill..

I'm glad it was rather a tame storm. We got some rain this morning but it has now moved east.

Ida was my grandmother's name---so I'm glad that 'she' didn't do alot of harm to your area. We are getting some rain up here--but it's light with no winds.

Hugs,
Betsy

Been through my share of hurricanes. I even went swimming in my front yard once, but had to go in because the rain was stinging from the wind! Glad all was well. Take care.

I'm glad it wasn't as bad as expected. I thought about you and so many other garden bloggers in Alabama and parts of Florida. Hope you enjoy your nice weather! :)

I am so glad it was a small storm. 7O mile winds sound bad to me anytime. Happy all is well.

I hope everything is okay down there .. I have fond memories of southern Alabama with my husband.

I'm happy to hear that you and Little Buddy are safe.

Ida is already responsible for the death of at least 130 in El Salvador and we should all be thankful that it has weakened to a tropical storm.

Never underestimate the power of these storms. They can devastate and leave incredible misery in their wake.
