A Few Blooms

Darnit can't get that cursor at the top today. Oh well - it's Thursday the day before Friday - the day we look forward to. I'm looking forward to some pretty weather today with highs in the mid 70's. I think that spring will be short this year. That groundhog might have gotten it right this time.

Just wanted to share a couple of things today. I'm joining up with Tootsie Time this week for Fertilizer Friday and Fishtail Cottage for Cottage Flora Thursdays. You can check them out here http://fishtailcottage.blogspot.com/

The first azalea this year. This bush is in the worst place and gets very little sun and is kinda scrawny but it produces twice a year and never fails to yield some beautiful blooms. I really need to get the fertilizer out and take care of some business. On my list.

This snapdragon forgot to look up the name - sorry - stayed green all winter long. Planted it last year from a seedling. I thought it had died but whooopeeee. I bet it produces a beautiful bloom too. Oh I remember I think this is Giant Tetra.

More snapdragons. These are loading up on buds.

A bloom about to oen on the  dianthus.

You have commented that this must smell so good. If it were indoors I would be able to smell it but ladies I can't get my nose that close to smell it.

Bridal Wreath leafing out.

Well I'm planning to get some stuff done this weekend. I'm gonna try to fill in some of these vacant spots.

This one has clover and other weeds on the top of the ground. Also loaded with daffodils. I'm gonna try to get this cleaned up a little.

This is what I'm longing for. These are all from last year. I'm so bad about not having my dates right on my camera.

Peaches - I hope last years drought will not effect the peaches. The drought is the reason I didn't have any pecans.
Well I hope you all have a great day. And that you are having some nice weather. Got lots to do today so I need to get busy. I'll be around to visit later.

I'm so jealous ... in a good way, of course. I can't wait to see plants coming up in my garden of snow and ice.

I love the color of your azalea. A little pruning will keep it from being gangly, and give you more blooms. I know, because I tried it, and I am timid when it comes to pruning anything. You've got some beauties coming up.

Have fun and don't work too hard.

Hugs ~ FlowerLady

Hi Becca. I have a scrawny Azalea that doesn't get much sun either but she struggles every year and comes around eventually and looks decent. It sounds like you will be having some nice weather to be able to get outside and work in the garden. For us here in Northern Cali it is raining and the wind is blowing hard. They say no rain this weekend though. I am keeping my fingers crossed because I really need to get a handle on all the weeds that have popped up in the last 2 weeks.

Mid 70's sounds heavenly. I was thrilled to have it make it up to 51 degrees here today. Everything is looking good, Becca. You'll have a whole garden full of blooms before you know it! :)

Yeah! It's Friday and is supposed to be beautiful and warm. I have some cleaning to do after we have guests for lunch.
I hope this wonderful mild weather lasts for a while before the heat returns. I don't have any azaleas yet -
all in good time!
Hope you have a great weekend,
Kathy

I am envious of you getting your hands dirty already. With us still having good snow cover, I get my gardening fix by looking at all the spring photos like you have. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Becca. How wonderful to see some things growing in your beds. Gotta love those Snapdragons. Sweet of them to stay around for another season. Makes planting them worth it all to get you a surprise like that. Have a wonderful weekend.

My azalea blooms twice a year too. The first time the blooms are abundant; the second time there are only a few blooms.

Good Morning Sweetie...
What a beautiful share this morning. I love seeing all the blooms and buds starting to appear. Dianthus are some of my favorite, and my snapdragons are blooming right and left here in Phoenix. (I also have a lot of pansies and petunias right now. The smell is heavenly.)

The hyacinths are some of my favorites as well, and yes they do have such a sweet smell.

I can't wait to see your bridal wreath all bloomed out. I know that is going to be gorgeous.

A beautiful garden just waiting for Spring to appear. Have a glorious week sweet one. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

How nice to see flowers! Hope your snapdragons do well - they are my favorite annual. Mine are going on their fourth year! In zone 5!?! I keep leaving them in the ground and they just keep on coming back. :)
