Fertilizer Friday

I'm hooking up with Tootsie at Tootsie Time for a party today that I'm late for. http://tootsietime.com/
Hey it's Friday and I've had a bad week. I haven't had time this week to visit and having my office computer down this week sure didn't help any. I'm ready for the weekend.

I'm so proud of the Larkspur. It has really impressed me and want it in my gardens every year now. It came up easily from seed I spread in February and seems to be tolerant of our drought conditions. But I do water regularly. Speaking of watering I am draging my garden hose almost everyday for 2-3 hour run. It's so bad here. We are over 16" below our rainfall and no rain in sight unless you call 20% a rain chance. I don't. I'm whining now so I'll go on. The heat is almost unbearable. We are breaking records here with temps of 100. It's HOT girlfriends. Needless to say I haven't done any gardening lately. Mostly staying indoors with the air conditioner.

The bougainvillia is awesome. I love the soft pink blooms.

Jean Marie Dahlia.

I forgot to check the name of this beauty. I am in love with it. Didn't think I would like the orange but it is beautiful in person. Let me tell ya that if colors could talk this one would be saying HOT too. While many of my plants can tolerate some dry conditions the dahlias can't. Everyday they droop. I do the best I can.

Can't really garden so I added a new character to the garden. It is beautiful at night all lit up blue.

The first couple of blueberries this year. I'm keeping the huge bush/tree watered well or I wouldn't have these. I will pick a big bowl full today before they drink more water.

Yesterday I had my hair done and this was in the restroom. I had to take a picture to share. I love it.

And this is what is says. Cute. (Speaking of hanging - oh well never mind...I wear my bra a lot...just saying)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I'm out of here in 1 hour so if I don't get by today I'll come visit you the first of the week.

Oh where did our spring go? It seems like summer arrived early and with vengeance this year...I am doing the same as you, except to pick the veggies and water, it is just to hot for gardening though I do have a couple of cutting that are now ready for the ground, maybe tomorrow morning before it gets to hot.

Stay cool...Praying we all get some rain soon.

Blessings Kelsie

Beautiful flowers!!! I know what you mean about dragging the water house around for hours...been doing that all week ... or cold wet late spring came to a rapid end with a major heat wave. Think the garden is in shock I know I am.

LOL! What a cute hang up Becca. I like your Butterfly. The word is hot, hot in your area. This weather just keeps getting crazier as the year goes by. I know where all of your rain went though, up here.
Your Larkspur are just beautiful. Hopefully they will come spread and come back even bigger next year.
I planted the zinnia seeds you sent to me but I do not know whether they are going to grow for me or not. Wait and see I guess. Thanks again for them Becca.
Have a wonderful weekend and stay cool!

I hope you get some rain and cooler weather soon. It's amazing the difference in weather we are all having. The ground here is pretty saturated and has been, things here are rotting.
I'm glad to see Larkspur blooming there, I have little seedlings and they won't be blooming for awhile still. I love those Dahlias too!

I was just about to come looking for you....missed you. Don't forget to save your Larkspur seed, some will reseed by themselves of course. My Dahlias wilt midday too. You need to show up a photo of the butterfly lit up. Where in the world did you find that?

Your blooms look wonderful. I know this heat has been awful for this early in the year. Hope it changes or we are all in for some burnt plants this year.

I am doing the rain dance for you. I did not do well with the dahlias with our heat last year, but maybe it was the excess rain we had last year that did them in.

Yours look great even with the heat and without the rain!

Your blooms are lovely. I like the cute things you display here too. We are also having hot weather here, using the aircond a lot.

This Dahlia photo reminds me of the beautiful flowers that my Grandfather grew! Cute pic of the bras also :)

Hi Becca,
I'm sorry for your heat and no rain. We're hot in Nebraska, too, but at least we've had lots of rain this season.

I planted some dahlias, and they took weeks to come up. There are 2 that aren't up yet, so I wonder if they will. Yours sure look pretty. I hope they get that much needed rain soon.

I love your butterfly! I had to laugh about the restroom art. I went to lunch with a gardening friend today, so she could get a free birthday meal. While there, she told me she's been shopping at thrift stores for tops she can go bra-less in while she's outside. She is a thin person, but I was surprised at what she said. LOL

The purple larkspur is the colour of the bridesmaids dress and our brides colour theme for the wedding we attended last weekend.
