Fall Blooms

I'm still here ya'll. I know I've been MIA and don't really have an excuse other than I just am. Anyway not much going on in my world. I took these pics a few weeks ago and just haven't gotten around to posting them.

Bougainvilla is doing great considering the time of year. I am falling in love with this plant.

 Kitty Cat loves the garden.

Have ya'll seen the new 'skinny houses'. I really don't know what they are called but they appear very small. I first saw these on HGTV during one of the reality shows where they each had to decorate one of these type homes. Notice they are long and narrow. This is how homes were built a long time ago and were called 'shotgun' houses'. They got that name because you could open either door and shoot strait through to the other side. These are the only 'skinny homes' I've seen. It will be interesting to see how these fair in a hurricane.
I bet they are designed for efficiency and storage. Probably making use of every inch of the home including the ceiling and attic if it even has one but I bet it does. These two homes are facing each other as you can see.

I just thought they were interesting so I wanted to share them.

This is what fall looks like here on the gulf coast. Very little color but the weather is so nice. Our weather has been seasonable for the most part with hi's in the 60's/70's and lows around 50 or so.

I've been doing some baking and still loving it. This is Sand Tarts and the recipe is can be found by going here: http://beccascookingspot.blogspot.com/

Hope you all have a fabulous day.

The bougainvilla is lovely. Jealous of your beautiful weather but we are getting much needed rain today so I'm not complaining. Your kitty is a cutie. I don't think I've see houses like in your photo. It looks like a trailer house only it's a duplex style.
My mom makes sand tarts at Christmas time. Since she's recovering from hip surgery currently, us kids may have to see if we can pull them together this year. Thanks for the reminder that we have more to consider than just the turkey for Thanksgiving!

Hello Becca,
I have not been very good at blogging either, lately.
Your flowers are gorgeous.
I always watch Design Stars and I saw Meg and I feel bad...I can't think of his name...design 2 of these houses. I liked Megs and wanted her to win but the way the guy designed every detail...he should have won the designing the little house....you certainly could not be an artist and live in one of those....no place to store your canvases...I too will be interested in how they wear over time...keep us up to date...I wonder how warm they are.... I always wanted to live in a train...a caboose and 2 cars...I have designed it a thousand times in my mind.
Thank you soooo very much for dropping by on Amy's anniversary date...you are so very sweet.
hugs

Love the pictures of your flowers.
Your kitty is so cute!!!! Those houses are interesting. I think I'd like it a bit more square myself. But I guess during a hurricane, if you open up both ends the wind will just go straight through. Mmmm, wonder if that would work?

Your flowers are still beautiful! Kitty seems to be right at home... I love the black and white. We are having some stormy weather tonight, look out, it may be headed your way! They said it will be heading east...
Take care, high winds, hard rain and tornadoes, power out, trees down! Please be careful if it gets there. Love Loretta

Love those peach colored mums! With the white violas - beautiful. Love your kitty, too, of course! I saw a part of a design show on decorating a skinny house. I didn't realize there were actual houses like that! I thought they were just for showing off how creative the designer could be in an imaginary tiny space! I would have a hard time living in such a small space - I'm much too unorganized! I bet for someone organized they would be great.

Hi There, I wondered where you were. You may not know that I've been really sick this past month. Was in the hospital twice. Had hernia surgery --and am now on the mend. LONG road ahead though...

Love your flowers ---and your Sand Tarts look great...

There are still lots of the OLD shot-gun houses in New Orleans...

Hugs,
Betsy
