Bloomin' Tuesday

Good morning friends. Hope this finds you doing well today. It's Tuesday and time for Bloomin Tuesday over at Jean's. Ya'll come on over and check out what others have to share today. http://msgreenthumbjean.blogspot.com/

My canna is putting on another show. This one is as tall as I am so my photo is taken above my head.
It's a beauty.

Camera fogging after the canna photo. Okra hibuscus has taken on all new buds and going for another round of blooms.

Pleasant surprise to find the gerbera blooming again. This is a darker orange than the photo shows.

Milkweed is blooming like crazy. I've seen quite a bit of butterfly activity but everytime I get the camera out away they go - darnit.

My first four o'clocks to bloom. This is from the Marvel of Peru Four O'Clocks. There are several other colors in this pot but no other bloomers yet. The flowers are very small as you can see and very dainty.

This one is a volunteer out back among some cut down shrub. This looks just like the yellow one - small and dainty. I love the color on this one. A very dark pink. The bush is loaded with buds and so far they appear to all be the same color. I captured this at 7:30 in the evening.

This is a very disappointing site. The pecans will be no good this year. Look at them. It's horrible. I suspect the extremes we've experienced this year in the weather have contributed to this. The pecans are falling from the trees already. The squirrels are eating them and they have plenty.

Well that's about it for today. It is HOT here and I suppose most of you are still having extreme heat too. I'll be glad to see cooler weather come next month (fingers crossed).

Hope you all have a great day. Happy gardening!

Your flowers are beautiful. Love that Canna. I've thought about trying them but haven't so far. They are so big and impressive. I like your Okra Hibiscus and I think your fog picture is great! Sorry about your pecans but I'll bet the squirrels are happy with you.

Becca, I have planted cannas many times because I love how wonderful they look in containers. I am not always lucky with them, leaves getting eaten, etc. Yours certainly looks lovely. It is a shame about the pecan trees.

That is a pretty shade of yellow on your Canna. Usually the colors are too vibrant, but that one is so nice. :)

Oh love that hibiscus. Pecan trees are out of the question here. I always love seeing them when we visit relatives in Mississippi. it has even been hot and humid here in ND! oof

Pretty yellow bloom on your canna Becca. Your Butterfly weed looks so much better than mine. Mine is pretty spindly. Love Gerbera daisies. I have a yellow one too. Try to stay cool!

I've never tried 4 o'clocks but your colors are striking. I've seen lots of milkweed in blogland. I wasn't aware there were others besides the wild version we have here. Pretty! So sad about the pecans. Jean

Sorry about your pecans. I used to have a friend that brought me a big bag every year from Georgia. I really miss them!

Hi Becca,
I'm still loving that okra hibiscus. Your 4 O' clocks look like mine. They reseed themselves in 2 colors, similar to yours. Mine have been blooming a couple weeks or so.

I forgot to say I'm sorry about your pecans. We have a couple walnut trees across the street that "belong" to the squirrels. I don't even know how to tell when they are ripe, but I think the squirrels eat them before they ripen.

Thanks for your comment on my Tuesday post. The butterflies used to flock to that butterfly bush, but now that I have a few more, and they have been blooming for awhile, I haven't seen any on this one yet. I'm thinking they'll find it soon, though.

We haven't had the hot temperatures, in fact is has been a little cool today. We will be in the 80's by this weekend. Thanks for sharing your lovely blooms. Sorry about your pecans. I am sure the squirrels are happy.

Well, this was something new! I've never seen a pecan tree, but trust me when I say I have eaten my fair share of pecans in my life. I'm sorry that it isn't a bumper crop for you this year. Your blossoms are gorgeous!

Sorry to see your pecan like that. Oh, my gerbera is reblooming for me too. Lovely isn't it? I like your canna also.

I love the yellow color of the Canna lily. Yellow is not a color that I have seen much in Cannas. I seem to have the same problem with butterflies....they do not seem to want to pose for my pictures ;-)
